Woodhaven Wetland
The Woodhaven project is an ongoing, multi-year partnership project to restore a small wetland in the Woodhaven Neighborhood of Sherwood.

Our partners in this project include the City of Sherwood , Metro, Pacific Habitat Services, George Fox University , Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility, and numerous fabulous R2R volunteers.

R2R’s efforts have included removing invasive species, planting 1000 trees and bushes, and mulching those plants.

We expect the project to be completed in 2008 or 2009, depending on the survival rate of the plants.

This project has received considerable support from the neighborhood. Local citizens have emailed us or shown up during work days to comment on the wildlife they’ve observed in the wetland, the teaching opportunities this affords them with their children, and how their own landscaping efforts are now in keeping with the wetland.

We’re always looking for more projects like this. If you know of one, please get in touch with us.
